After a week of cold, rainy weather, BREC is inviting the public out to Webb Memorial Park, 1351 Country Club Dr., for the grand opening celebration of the new neighborhood playground on Sat., Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., for what is scheduled to be a beautiful, sunny day. The opening of the park marks the completion of a unique partnership between BREC and the Friends of Webb Park, a local neighborhood group that was intricately involved in leading fundraising efforts for the park. The group, comprised of neighborhood residents, joined forces with the BREC Foundation and raised more than $91,000 to contribute to the overall construction budget. BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center , 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway, will host its new Kids’ Night Out event Fri., Feb. 14 from 6-10 p.m. When the sun goes down, the nocturnal creatures come out at the Swamp!
