Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center (BSNC) will host its second-annual Duck, Duck Goose Day event Saturday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at BSNC, 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway.

The initial event was to honor Charles W. Frank, noted conservationist, nature photographer, and author. Mr. Frank sought to preserve the decoy carving heritage of Louisiana by chronicling and documenting the carving traditions of Louisiana artists and their families in reference to materials used, carving methods, painting techniques, and unique characteristics passed down over generations of carvers. Mr. Frank donated a large portion of his private collection of waterfowl decoys and photographs/artwork to Bluebonnet Swamp.

A couple of weeks ago I introduced you to PickURGift. To refresh your memory, PickURgift is a cool new website that allows you create your own wish list and/or wish lists for your friends and family with ideas you find online.
