Origami Owl Living Lockets Giveaway - Ends 10/8 Noon CST
Of all the products that I've reviewed over the years, this may be one of my favorites. The product is called a Living Locket and the company that makes them is Origami Owl.
I was introduced to this up and coming company by Lindsay Witmar. Not only is Lindsay a wonderful lady, but she has an amazing reason for becoming a Origami Owl Independent Designer.
Lindsay gave birth to twins, Kate and Cohen, on December 15, 2008. Born at 35 weeks, both babies were perfectly healthy and went home from the hospital after only 3 days. At 3 weeks old, Kate stopped eating and was having trouble breathing.
Very soon after being admitted to the NICU, it was discovered that she had late onset GBS meningitis. She was in the hospital for 31 days on antibiotics, and the infection affected her brain tremendously. She was diagnosed with encephalomalacia, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, and now has scoliosis and hip displacement due to her tight muscles.
Kate has therapies 1-2 times a week, because that's what insurance will pay for. She takes 10 medicines twice a day, and takes her formula at night through her G-tube. A huge goal is to get a therapy tub at home so that Kate can do pool therapy more than once a week since she LOVES the warm water so much.
What a beautiful family!
You can read more about Kate's story on her website www.prayersforkate.org.
Lindsay said that she immediately fell in love with the Living Lockets and Origami Owl and I can see why.
What is a Living Locket?
Every Living Locket is custom designed with charms that tell the story of your life and represent the things you love. With these lockets, you can start off small and add as you wish. They open and close with 2 magnets so you can change out charms as you like. They are made of stainless steel, nickel and lead free and plated with sterling silver or 18k gold or rose gold.
To begin creating your Living Locket, you'll need to first select charms that have meaning to you. Then, select your favorite locket + chain. You can also choose to add a little personality with a hand-stamped metal plate or dangles.
There are so many ways to personalize your Locket and these are PERFECT for gifts:
Here's mine. It's my 3 daughters' initals and a heart for hubby. I plan on adding a few charms later on.

FYI - Lindsay will have a booth next Saturday at Denham Springs Antique Village Arts and Crafts show. Stop by if you're in town because the display is amazing!
