A few weeks ago the Free Precious Places DVD was available and lucily it has returned. When you register you have to click your country before it will send you to the registration page. FRIDAYS Astronomy Night 7:30pm Every Friday evening (weather permitting), the public is invited to explore the skies above the Observatory. The Friday night astronomy lecture series begins indoors at 7:30 p.m. with a presentation. Past topics have included asteroids, the Apollo mission and stellar evolution to name a few. The lecture is followed by observing from 8:30-9:30 p.m. with the observatory telescope and other telescopes provided by the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society. I walked into Whole Foods for the first time a couple of years ago when Baton Rouge opened it's store. I have to tell you that from that moment on I became a "Whole Foods Junkie". When you walk through the doors you are imediately drawn to all the fresh produce which is mostly supplied by local farmers. Whole Foods sets a very high standard for all their products including natural and organic items. However, being such a frugal shopper, I'm aware of the higher prices compared to other grocery stores. Being the savvy shopper that I am, I have come up with several ways to get my "fix" and not blow the bank at the same time. Whole Foods has weekly sales that start every Wednesday but do not end until the following Thursday which means that there are double sale items on Wednesdays. This is such a great deal on Ziploc bags not to mention these bags are better for the environment, which I love.
